dPi Teleconnect, LLC, a leading rent-to-own industry provider of prepaid services to credit and cash constrained consumers, today announced it has acquired Vertex Communications, a competitor in the prepaid services industry.

As part of the agreement, dPi will acquire the services of some 600 Vertex Agents who support more than 25,000 customers. Vertex Agents operate mainly in smaller, independent locations, in contrast to dPi’s core group of larger corporate-driven Agent locations.

According to David Dorwart, President and CEO of dPi, “We continue to execute our strategic consolidation program as we bring smaller CLEC’s into the dPi operating company. Vertex is our fourth acquisition this year, and it represents our largest overall acquisition to date. Saxon will remain with dPi Teleconnect in an executive position where he will manage current Agents and assist dPi with its growth plan. dPi anticipates further acquisitions as the pre-paid service industry continues to consolidate.
