ColorTyme vendors spent the day
setting up booths Wednesday in preparation for tomorrows
tradeshow at the Peabody Hotel in Memphis, Tennessee (see
agenda). Over 40 vendors will display merchandise at this year's show
that begins Thursday, following the event's General Session.
Among other announcements
expected at the General Session is an update on ColorTyme's
new website, currently in the final stages of beta-testing.
ColorTyme recognizes it has two distinct web customers; Consumers and Franchisees.
Much of the development effort has been in producing a web
service that satisfies the diverse needs of both groups. "We've added online catalog functions that will allow
consumers to shop and apply for accounts online," noted Amy
Woods, ColorTyme Marketing Director. According to Woods,
franchisees will have the ability to customize their product
lineup by location, based on the ColorTyme master-lineup.

Director by ColorTyme in April, 2006. A Dallas native,
Ms. Woods comes to ColorTyme with more than 15 years
experience in advertising and marketing combined with a
background in franchisee relations. |
ColorTyme
is paying special attention to graphics that will
quickly appeal to the notoriously short attention span of
internet shoppers. "The graphics are being designed to grab and
hold the visitors attention immediately," said Woods. Among
other elements, the site will incorporate the popular Captain
ColorTyme theme.
The job of producing an updated Captain ColorTyme, first
introduced in the late 1980s, as a modern day comic book
superhero, was given to Dallas, Texas based
AMS Production
Group. AMS produced the first spot in December, 2005. The 30
second spot features the return of the beloved Captain ColorTyme
superhero, who effectively saves the holiday season (view
the 30 second spot here).
The new web site will feature Captain
ColorTyme in a comic strip format. Woods said the site will be very
colorful, eye-catching and very different from competing
