Trent Agin, Vice President of Business Systems for the Midwest's largest rent-to-own chain - Rent One -, took the prize for biggest fish in Tuesday's bass tournament at the Heartland of America RTO Tradeshow in Lake Ozark, Missouri. Trent Agin, Vice President of Business Systems for the Midwest's largest rent-to-own chain - Rent One -, took the prize for biggest fish in Tuesday's Buddy Bass Tournament at the 2007 Heartland of America RTO Tradeshow in Lake Ozark, Missouri. The event is organized by Missouri Rental Dealers Association (MRDA).

Agin caught the 6.45lb lunker on a spinner bait only 30 minutes into the tournament. It was his only fish, but it was enough to take third place overall in addition to biggest fish".

Two foursomes tied for first place in Tuesday's Golf Tournament played on the Witches Cove course at Lodge of the Four Seasons. Gary McDougal (guest), John Rogers of High Touch and Autco Distributing's Larry Cockrell scored a 6 under par 65 to tie with the team of Scott Young of Homeline, Bob Payne of Rug Doctor, Joe Laney of Rent-A-Center and DSi Distributing's Jewel Dolton.

Among other duties, Trent Agin handles much of Rent One's technology. A key area of concern for any company with a multi-state footprint is communications. Agin says maintaining open communication with 43 locations in 4 states without disrupting everyone's schedule is a challenge that only technology can solve. Trent told RTO Online in a podcast interview in February of this year, "When you can get the right information to the right people rapidly, it empowers them to perform."

Trent Agin: "Computer rentals have skyrocketed over the past few years. One of the ways we've been able to take advantage of the computer business is in managing the pricing structure of pre-rented computers. With pricing and features changing so fast, a computer that is a year old may show a higher rental rate in our POS than a new unit. To solve that issue, we have a real-time rate listing that stores can sort by model number, price etc. Managers can look up the minimum rental rate and market pre-rented computers independently of the POS system.
