D. Lynn DeVault of Check into Cash,
one of the country's largest payday lenders, was elected
President of the Community Financial Services Association of
America (CFSA) at the group's annual meeting this weekend.
Ms. DeVault, a past president of the association, takes over
from Darrin Andersen of QC Holdings who held the post for two
years. Andersen led the CFSA through the launch of new Best
Practices as well as a major public education campaign.
As legislators, lobbyists and consumer advocates argue both
sides of the Payday Loan issue, there is one group whose voice
is not being heard - customers.
Real customers who used payday advances to solve real problems
are the stars of CFSA's ad campaign launched in February (see
story).
