If the secret to retail success is location-location-location, then the key to rent to own success is education, education, education. The Alabama Mississippi Rent to Own Association (ALAMISS) wrapped up its annual convention and tradeshow with a series of educational seminars on subjects ranging from; How to handle customers who are called to active duty, to the proper way to change a bulb in a Philips LCOS TV.

Vonda Jones, owner of Vonda's Rent to Own and President of ALAMISS, told RTO Online, "This is a chance for all of us to get together and learn from each other." Jones hopes to expand the ALAMISS event into a regional convention in 2005 by including rent to own companies from Georgia and Tennessee.
