Dowell will always be remembered for the laughter and fun he brought to sooo many people's lives!  He is admired by all those lives he has touched.  Prayers and healing to the family.

I would just like to send my best wishes to Dowells family and also Joe. Dowell taught me so many things in life as well as in rent to own. He was a positive figure in my life and his death is a loss to everyone's life he touched.

Dow embodied the folks who built this industry: street smart, hardworking, and always available with an idea, an extra hand, or just an encouraging word. Thousands of people today enjoy careers that were made possible by Dow's work and the work of others like him. Appreciate what you have; it can end tomorrow.

Many store managers feared seeing Dowell walk thru their doors, as he would tell you what he honestly thought, but provided great leadership to many of us over the years! Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

The industry has truly lost a real pioneer and friend to all of us.  I met Dowel many years ago at DEF in New Orleans and considered him more than a business associate Dowel was a friend.  My thoughts and prayers go to his family and work associates in this very difficult time.  I think we can all say we have never dealt with a more fair and knowledgeable person and it is a shame he did not have time to enjoy his much earned and deserved retirement.  The Rental Purchase Industry has lost a much loved pioneer and partner.

No one, but he who has partaken thereof, can understand the keen delight of hunting in lonely lands.  For him is the joy of the horse well ridden and the rifle well held; for him the long days of toil and hardship, resolutely endured, and crowned at the end with triumph.  In after years there shall come forever to his mind the memory of endless prairies shimmering in the bright sun; of vast snow-clad wastes lying desolate under gray skies; of the melancholy marshes; of the rush of mighty rivers; of the breath of the evergreen forest in summer; of the crooning of ice-armored pines at the touch of the winds of winter; of cataracts roaring between hoary mountain masses; of all the innumerable sights and sounds of the wilderness; of it's immensity and mystery; and of the silence that brood in its still depths.
"Theodore Roosevelt"
Dowell Arnett was a man's man.  We both loved the sport of hunting and shared many a story during meetings and trade shows. Dowell passed on too soon doing what he loved, hunting. My sincere and deepest condolences to his family.

My Deepest condolences to the Arnette Family.  As someone who began with DEF and worked through all the changes up to and including The RAC acquisition I have much respect for Mr. Arnette's abilities and credit much of my success to him.  He will be missed personally and professionally. God Bless you!

It is a big shock to hear of the passing of Dowell, as this man was responsible for my long tenure in the rent to own business. he will be missed and remembered by me  God bless you Dowell.

He touched thousands of people. He always celebrated others accomplishments, and never looked at any too small to celebrate. And more, he loved this business. He never did let go of it or the people in it after he retired.

"The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly; it is dearness only that gives everything its value. I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can gather strength from distress and grow brave by reflection. 'Tis the business of little minds to shrink; but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death."

My memories are a great spirit, a big smile, and a cigar.  He was an example for any of his peers.

Nobody in RTO today could ever match the kindness and overall love and compassion for his employees.  Dowell was a great man, and many should look to his example for direction.

The Arnette's were great gentleman and rent-to-own pioneers.  My thoughts are with the Family.
