David Reutimann will compete in six more NASCAR Busch Series races in the No. 99 Aaron’s Dream Machine beginning with Bristol Motor Speedway next week. Reutimann, who is in a heated battle for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship, couldn’t be happier with Michael Waltrip Racing’s decision.

“I enjoy the Busch races and this gives me a head start for next season,” Reutimann said. “We knew at the beginning of the season that I was going to run some Busch races for Michael, but we didn’t know how many. I had the opportunity to run some races as the season progressed and then Michael announced that I was going to drive his car in the Busch Series next season. That opened some doors.”

Reutimann’s three top-10’s in a row at Nashville Superspeedway, Kentucky Speedway and the Milwaukee Mile helped seal the deal. “David’s done a really good job for us and because of that we are adding more races to his schedule,” Waltrip stated.

In addition to competing in the Bristol Motor Speedway NASCAR Busch Series event, Reutimann will race at California Speedway, Richmond International Raceway, Kansas Speedway, Texas Motor Speedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway. A third driver, 21-year-old Joey Miller, will make his NASCAR Busch Series debut in the No. 99 Aaron’s Dream Machine at Memphis Motorsports Park in October.

Reutimann collected Michael Waltrip Racing’s best NASCAR Busch Series finish this season with his sixth-place finish at Nashville Superspeedway, the track where he also scored his first-ever NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series victory. Reutimann aims for the team’s first top-five finish of the season at Bristol Motor Speedway next week.

“Last year, we got the pole at Bristol for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race and thought we’d run really well,” Reutimann said. “That race was a huge disappointment because we had a power steering pump go bad. We were really good in practice and we busted off a good lap in qualifying. We couldn’t do much of anything after we had that problem. We were forced to come in and fix it. We lost a lot of laps and we went back out and just tried to stay out of the way. We never found out how good we could be at that place.”
