Mike Thompson was named Rent One Store Manager of the Year for 2006 Wednesday at the company's annual awards dinner in St. Louis, Missouri. Rent One Manager of the Year is awarded to the manager exhibiting outstanding performance throughout 2006. "Webster's defines a manager as someone who leads a team," said Larry Carrico, owner of Rent One, during Wednesday's award ceremony. "That definition sums up Mike Thompson."

Thompson led the Sparta, Illinois store to 23% revenue growth in 2006.

After accepting the award, Thompson thanked his team. "Everybody in my store, Adam Hahn, Amanda Reece, Ishmael Harris, Joe Blake, Brian Huddleston and my assistant manager Randy Blake deserves this award," he said. "Instead of Manager of the year, it should be crew of the year because they won this award."

Rent One also named Kelly McClellan, National Accounts manager for BDI Laguna, Rent One Vendor of the year during Wednesday's ceremony. BDI Laguna distributes electronics and is the RTO industry's source for HP and Compaq computers. Larry Carrico thanked McClellan and BDI for working to make Rent One a successful company.
