In a country where 90% of
children's furniture and toys are imported,
Step2 is making an impact in the rental market with
merchandise Made in America.
 Thomas
G. Murdough, Jr., founder and former president of The Little
Tikes Company, launched Step2 in 1991 with 5 employees. The
company now employs over 1,000 people and operates four US
manufacturing plants in California, Georgia, and Ohio (2)
totaling nearly 1 million sq. ft.
Step2 has been a TRIB (The
Rental Industry Buying Group) vendor for 6 years.
Kenneth Tinner (left), Regional Sales Manager for Step2, is
preparing for this weeks TRIB Convention and Buying Show in
Grapevine, Texas. Tinner explained that relationships with TRIB
members is as important as the business written at the show. "It's a much friendlier atmosphere than traditional retail shows,"
said Tinner. "The people here are more genuine, and that's the way business
ought to be."
