After removing the duplicate votes, Republican visitors outnumber Democrat visitors to RTO Online - 54% Republican versus 35% Democrat. 11% indicated they were Independent.

RTO Online has been running an online poll to determine the political affiliation of www.rtoonline.com visitors. Over a period of several days, we asked RTO Online visitors the question: "Are you Democrat, Republican or Independent?"

Findings:

First a confession. While we did not call out the fact, we intentionally allowed people to cast more than one vote in the poll. In fact, participants could vote as many times as they wished. The catch, IP addresses were tracked for each vote to see who was more likely to cast multiple votes, Democrats or Republicans. The data indicates that Democrats are 2.3 times more likely that Republicans to vote more than once.

The Actual Data:

After removing the duplicate votes, Republican visitors outnumber Democrat visitors to RTO Online - 54% Republican versus 35% Democrat. 11% indicated they were Independent (381 unique votes cast).

Poll participants could also post a comment with their vote. Comments ranged from the lame "Does it really matter" to the extreme "A Republican vote says that it is okay to Protect child predators." A sample of actual comments follow (edited for spelling with expletives deleted).

• I am registered Democrat in order to take part in local primaries, but am Republican in viewpoint.
• I was leaning towards a party change however Senator Kerry's recent comments aluding that our service men and women are uneducated and I cannot support a party that supports a man like Senator Kerry.
  Republicans have driven the mass consolidation of the RTO business by creating an environment that makes it very difficult for independent dealers to compete against the major players. The big players get the benefit of the largest tax breaks.

  1)Lie to the American people to go to war (WMD, cost, length...)
  2)Protect child [predators]
  3)Run up the largest deficit in our history by increasing spending dramatically while cutting taxes in wartime.
  4) Encourage the teaching of "Intelligent Design" as real science 80 years after the Scopes Monkey Trials.
  5)Remove the right of Habeas Corpus in our country.
• But who knows anymore...
• For the most part, especially on moral issues.
• We (RTO PROs), need to remember that the Republicans support out industry

• Bush needs to leave office, we have to start with the house and senate.
• The deficit is only 2.5% of the GNP (that's quite low compared to other eras) and the federal government is collecting more tax revenues today than ever in the country's history. There's a new record tax revenues every quarter. The Republican economy has overcome 9-11, Katrina, the war, and the recession that Bill Clinton left.

• I'm a Republican but the rigid social conservatives are making it increasingly difficult for us Ronald Reagan fans to stay in the GOP!

President Bush has obviously made mistakes, but I'm glad we didn't have a Democrat in office during 9/11, they would have talked Al-Queda to death, and our COUNTRY WOULD NOT BE SAFE. Vote, using common sense.
