Jay Roberts, Vice President of Operations for National TV Sales & Rental began his rental career in 1981 for Classic TV Rental in Houston, Texas at the tender age of 21.

A few decades and a million RTO miles later, he wants to, in his words, " give something back". This is his story...

Early in his career, (when a formal education was available to him) he didn’t want it, when he realized how important an education was, it wasn’t available to him. Jay thereafter became committed to the life long learning of the Industry he was in. Over the next 21 years he has worked in, managed, been responsible for from a multi-store management standpoint, consulted with or owned over 60 stores across the country.

Jay has developed and organized a Rental Training Program over the years that covers virtually every aspect of Rent to Own Operations from Account Management to Multi Store Operations. A program that is a compilation of lessons learned the hard way, and knowledge accumulated over decades.

Jay as agreed to share with RTO Online and Rental Professionals what it took him a lifetime to learn. The Store level training breaks down into four parts, Sales, Collections, Operations and Motivation. This training series should be required reading for every current and potential Rent to Own employee across the country.
